Baseball Recap: Caledonia Has No Trouble Against Louisville

Caledonia's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Louisville Wildcats get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The match marked the Cavaliers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Reid Garrett made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero hits, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Garrett Holloman was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Conner Black, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

The win got Caledonia back to even at 4-4. As for Louisville, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Caledonia will face off against Louisville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Louisville, they will take on Columbus at 1:00 a.m. on Friday.
