Softball Recap: Lakewood Comes Up Short

Lakewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-0 to the Hollins Royals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 17-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Lakewood's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Hollins, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8.

Coincidentally, Lakewood and Hollins will both be playing Boca Ciega the next time they take the field. The Spartans will head out to face the Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Royals will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
