Booneville extended their winning streak (dating back to last season) to 19 on Thursday, bumping them up to 2-0. They took down the DeSoto Central Jaguars 65-49. This was payback for the Blue Devils, who suffered a 70-63 loss the last time these two teams met.

Having lost for the first time this season, DeSoto Central fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

DeSoto Central lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Hunter Avant, who posted 12 points along with eight boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Blake Price, who shot 50% from the field en route to 14 points and eight rebounds.

Coming up, Booneville will challenge Horn Lake at 7:30 p.m. on the 21st. As for DeSoto Central, they are taking a road trip to face off against Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
