Soccer Recap: Canfield Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Canfield had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Their defense stepped up to hand the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish a 2-0 shutout on Tuesday. Canfield have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw St. Vincent-St. Mary, too.

Nick Atsas and Drew Snyder scored both of Canfield's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

St. Vincent-St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Canfield wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 6-1 win against Hubbard on the 21st. As for St. Vincent-St. Mary, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 0-0 draw against Boardman on the 21st.
