Basketball Recap: Mayfield Has No Trouble Against South

Mayfield won the last time they faced South and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Mayfield Wildcats blew past the South Rebels 57-36. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

South lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Olivia Pennington, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Luciano, who earned ten points.

Mayfield has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for South, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mayfield will venture away from home to take on Chardon at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for South, they will head out to face off against Kenston at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
