Baseball Game Preview: Southside Southerners vs. Trumann Wildcats

For the second straight game, Southside will face off against Trumann. The Southerners are taking a road trip to square off against the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Southside's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Trumann with a sharp 9-0 win. The Southerners haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Devin Hightower was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Hightower was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Cameron Foree was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Zeb Anderson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Trumann is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11. As for Southside, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
