Softball Preview: Westfall Mustangs vs. Southeastern Panthers
Westfall is 6-0 against Southeastern since April of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Westfall Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Southeastern Panthers at 5:15 p.m. Westfall will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Last Friday, Westfall never let their opponents score. Everything went their way against Paint Valley as Westfall made off with a 14-0 win. The victory was just what Westfall needed coming off of an 11-4 defeat in their prior match.
Adrina Hicks made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Hicks was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Logan McNeal was a standout: she fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jill Butcher, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.
Meanwhile, sadly, Southeastern is still looking for their first win of the season after four games. Their tough 12-0 loss to Unioto on Monday might stick with them for a while.
