Winchester came out on top against Waltham on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fourth inning. The Red & Black took their game against the Hawks 16-13. The Red & Black haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Winchester got a massive performance out of Nora Harstad, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Harstad a new career-high. Anna D'Antonio was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Winchester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waltham only posted a batting average of .278.
Winchester's win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winchester will welcome Central Catholic at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Waltham, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Cambridge Rindge & Latin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
