Soccer Game Preview: San Mateo vs. Mills

The San Mateo Bearcats will head out to challenge the Mills Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

It was a proper cat-fight when San Mateo took on Half Moon Bay on Friday. San Mateo fell just short of Half Moon Bay by a score of 1-0. The Bearcats have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Mills fell victim to Woodside and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 8-0 to the Wildcats. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

San Mateo's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Mills, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6-2.

Everything went San Mateo's way against Mills in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, as San Mateo made off with a 4-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Mateo since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
