Volleyball Recap: Hilltop Comes Up Short

The Hilltop Lancers came up short against the Victory Christian Academy Knights on Thursday and fell 3-1. While the Lancers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 25-20 in the first set.

Hilltop started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 26-24, 25-16, 25-19.

Victory Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brad Chier, who had 21 kills, 13 digs, and four aces. Chier is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had seven or more in each of the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Esteban Torres, who had eight digs and four aces.

Hilltop's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Victory Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Hilltop will venture away from home to take on Madison at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will welcome Liberty Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
