Jett Taylor's Big Game Leads Grand Saline over Harmony

Starting off the list is Grand Saline's Jett Taylor, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Taylor rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also threw for 84 yards and a touchdown.

The victory for Grand Saline keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Taylor will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against Edgewood on Friday.

Grand Saline Wins Fifth-Straight Thanks to Colt Boyd

Colt Boyd was instrumental in extending Grand Saline's winning streak to five on Friday. Boyd's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 126 rushing yards dating back to last season.

This season, Boyd has averaged 2.2 total tackles per game.

Big Game from Golightly As Edgewood Won 48-14

Trevor Golightly posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He threw for 180 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes, and also rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Quitman's probably not too fond of Golightly given he always seems to get the better of them. Golightly threw for 218 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 12-for-12 passing, and also rushed for 36 yards the last time he and Quitman duked it out back in October of 2023.

Luke Rhoades Turns in Season-Best Performance

Prairiland was led to victory by Luke Rhoades, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Rhoades wasn't messing around, picking up three sacks, making 15 total tackles, and defending a pass. The matchup was his third straight with five or more total tackles dating back to last season.

Prairiland moved to 3-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. Rhoades and Prairiland will take on Lone Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Bryan Paniagua Makes It Two for Edgewood

Another Edgewood player making an appearance on this list is Bryan Paniagua. He rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns.
