Basketball Recap: Cedar Takes a Loss

Cedar lost against Pine View back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cedar Reds fell 59-47 to the Pine View Panthers.

When it comes to explaining why Cedar lost, don't look at Hayden Kee. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 12 on his way to 16 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Kee a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Payne, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and five rebounds.

Pine View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adam Moore, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Stratton Williams, who posted 14 points.

Cedar's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Pine View, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Logan the next time they take the court. Cedar will host Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Pine View will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
