League recap: Popkes throws longest pass in league this season for Paris

Kyle Popkes and Daniel Corbin provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Knox County. The connection was good for 63 yards, the longest such play in Lewis & Clark this season.

Zane Jacoby of Westran ran for the longest rushing play in the league this season against Schuyler County last week. Jacoby scampered for 87 yards on the play and finished with 231 on the day as his team beat the Rams.

Paris's dynamic duo of Popkes and Laine Forrest proved tough for the Eagles to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Popkes threw for 258 yards and 5 touchdowns and Forrest had 130 yards receiving. Brendon Hancock helped Paris' passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 78 yards.

The Coyotes' dynamic duo of Popkes and Forrest proved to be unstoppable against Knox County, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Popkes put up the best numbers in passing as Paris bested the Eagles.

He went 11-24 with 0 interception.

Jacoby was a force in the backfield as Westran defeated Schuyler County.

Jacoby provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Curtis Jasper's team bested the Rams. Jacoby's favorite target this week was Jordan Dennis, who caught 2 passes for 42 yards.

Jacoby was the most successful running back in the league this week. Jake Ingebritson also contributed to the rushing game with 118 yards on the ground.

Forrest was the best receiver in Lewis & Clark this week as Gary Crusha's team topped Knox County.

The Coyotes' Popkes and Slater Stone have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Popkes has thrown for 995 yards this season, while Stone, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 25 catches for 433 yards. The Hornets' Jacoby leads the league in rushing yards with 543.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Paris takes on Westran. At the moment, the Coyotes are in third, while the Hornets are in first.

Westran extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Schuyler County, 54-16. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
