Soccer Game Preview: Eaton Rapids vs. Waverly

The Eaton Rapids Greyhounds are headed away from home for the first time to take on the Waverly Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eaton Rapids will be strutting in after a victory while Waverly will be coming in after a defeat.

Eaton Rapids will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Charlotte on Tuesday. The Greyhounds' defense stepped up to hand the Orioles a 9-0 shutout. Kennedie Crow was a massive factor in the win as she booted in four goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Waverly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against St. Johns, falling 8-0.

Waverly's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Eaton Rapids, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Everything went Eaton Rapids' way against Waverly in their previous meeting back in April of 2019, as Eaton Rapids made off with a 6-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greyhounds since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
