Recap: Sauquoit Valley Indians vs. Cooperstown Hawkeyes
Even though the Cooperstown Hawkeyes scored an imposing 59 points on Monday, the Sauquoit Valley Indians still came out on top. Sauquoit Valley snuck past Cooperstown with a 63-59 win. For Sauquoit Valley, this counts as revenge for the 72-68 defeat Cooperstown walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.
Cooperstown's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brody Murdock, who scored 22 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cooper Bradley, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Sauquoit Valley's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Cooperstown, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Sauquoit Valley will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sherburne-Earlville at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. As for Cooperstown, they will be playing at home against Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
