Volleyball Recap: Harpeth Takes a Loss

Harpeth and Summertown squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Harpeth had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-20, 25-15.

Summertown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zoei Bonner, who had 28 assists and three digs. Bonner is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 21 or more in each of the last 13 games she's played. Madeline Gilliam was another key player, getting 13 digs and two aces.

Harpeth has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-14 record this season. As for Summertown, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 39-8.

As of now, neither Harpeth nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
