Baseball Game Preview: Cyprus Pirates vs. Taylorsville Warriors

For the second straight game, Cyprus will face off against Taylorsville. The Pirates will square off against the Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cyprus will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Cyprus was able to grind out a solid victory over Taylorsville, taking the game 6-1.

Easton Seeley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cody Densley, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Nick Griffel was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Cyprus pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Taylorsville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
