Basketball Preview: Bellevue Broncos vs. Hillsdale Academy Colts
The Bellevue Broncos are on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Hillsdale Academy Colts at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Bellevue has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 388 points over their last five games.
Even though Colon scored an imposing 56 points on Saturday, Bellevue still came out on top. Bellevue took their matchup against the Magi 65-56. Given Bellevue's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Magi are ranked 529th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Hillsdale Academy waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Pittsford by a score of 45-33.
Bellevue's win was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. As for Hillsdale Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Bellevue against the Colts in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 61-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bellevue since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
