Maury put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 48-38 victory over the Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks. The 48-point effort marked the Commodores' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Maury's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nyla Brown led the charge by putting up 12 points. Another player making a difference was Myla Parker, who posted 12 points.

Maury's record now sits at 8-0. As for Miller School of Albemarle, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.

Maury and Hampton Roads Academy will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Hampton Roads Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Maury surely won't give up without a fight. As for Miller School of Albemarle, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Massaponax at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
