Volleyball Game Preview: Athol Bears vs. East Longmeadow Spartans

The Athol Bears will head out to square off against the East Longmeadow Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Athol is headed out to face East Longmeadow after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Athol walked away with a 3-1 win over Chicopee on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

While Athol might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Chicopee scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-20, 20-25, 25-20.

Meanwhile, East Longmeadow made easy work of Sabis International on Friday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

The win didn't come easy: Sabis International scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-22, 25-22.

Athol suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to East Longmeadow when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Athol avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
