League recap: Beggs breaks off league-leading run for Tyler HEAT

TCAL Division II - District 2 (6 Man) recap Oct. 16, 2012

Tyler HEAT's Nathan Beggs recorded the longest rushing play in TCAL Division II - District 2 (6 Man) this season in his game against Marshall Christian Academy last week. Beggs' team defeated the Guardians as he sprinted for 62 yards on the play and finished with 159 in all.

Tyler HEAT took down Marshall Christian Academy 60-30 last week, the largest margin of any game. Beggs threw for 53 yards and one touchdown in the win.

Samuel Lastra put up the best numbers through the air as Guy Barr's team fell to Tyler HEAT. He finished with a total of 11 completions for 108 yards and one touchdown. Lastra's favorite target this week was Caleb Beesinger, who caught three passes for 36 yards.

Levi Taylor was the best wideout in the league this week as Tyler HEAT bested the Guardians. Taylor racked up two receptions for 56 yards.

Marshall Christian Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Guardians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Lastra has thrown for 524 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Ben Whiting has 15 catches for 249 yards. Lastra also leads the league in rushing with 1039 yards.

A big matchup in TCAL Division II - District 2 (6 Man) this week will be when King's Academy takes on Tyler HEAT. The Knights are currently in third, while Tyler HEAT is in first.

Tyler HEAT led the league in scoring this week after putting up 60 points on Marshall Christian Academy. Beggs in the win.
