League recap: Warsaw climbs in state rankings

Warsaw moved up to 120 from 165 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Tri-County. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of beating Versailles 40-16.

Osage was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from eighth to sixth in the league. The Indians defeated Southern Boone 45-20 earlier in the week.

Brice Mueller and David Holland gave the Eagles a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Mueller threw for 60 yards, while Holland ran for 118 yards. Teammate Grant Anderson added to the ground attack by rushing for 62 yards.

Mueller and Holland gave Southern Boone a balanced attack through the air and ground last week.

Holland was the most successful running back in the league this week.

Mueller put up the best numbers in passing as Roger VanDeZande's team fell to Osage. Mueller's favorite target this week was Holland, who caught 4 passes for 40 yards.

Joe Forge provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Hallsville lost to Blair Oaks. He completed 13 passes for 169 yards and also ran for 6 yards. Forge's favorite target this week was Skyler Creed, who caught 7 passes for 92 yards.

Creed was the best receiver in Tri-County this week as the Indians fell to the Falcons. Gabe Breuer helped Hallsville's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 64 yards.

5-foot-10 quarterback Forge of Hallsville is the league leader in passing yards this season with 433. He has also thrown 2 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is DYLAN JEFFRIES. The Osage star has 15 catches for 176 yards.

Two of the top teams in the league will go toe-to-toe this week when Devin Johnson's team takes on California. The Indians' offense has recorded 90 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Pintos have permitted only 21 on the year.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when California takes on Hallsville. Marty Albertson's team is in second place, while the Indians are in third place.

Eldon lost to the Pintos 38-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
