Football Recap: Kennedy Skates Past Woodbridge with Ease

Kennedy got themselves on the board against Woodbridge on Friday, but Woodbridge never followed suit. They breezed past the Warriors to the tune of 37-0. The Fighting Irish pushed the score to 27-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors had little chance of recovering from.

Kennedy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rocco Street out in front who picked up 59 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one rushing score. Another signal caller making a difference was Derek Almazan, who threw for 192 yards and a pair of TDs.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 20 in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Benjamin Beasley, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Kennedy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Mahseiah Banks, Cody Herrera, and Steven Aldapa picked up one apiece.

Kennedy has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 13 points this season. As for Woodbridge, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Kennedy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 42-38 defeat against Garfield on the 5th. As for Woodbridge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 28-14 loss against Irvine on the 5th.
