Baseball Game Preview: Edina Hornets vs. Farmington Tigers

Edina hasn't had much luck against Farmington recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Hornets will square off against the Tigers. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Edina took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Wayzata, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hornets narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Trojans 2-1.

Shakopee typically has all the answers at home, but back in May Farmington proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Sabers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since April 21st.

Farmington's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Edina, their win bumped their record up to 14-8-1.

Edina came up short against Farmington in their previous matchup back in April of 2015, falling 7-2. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
