Basketball Recap: Northside Patriots vs. Jonesboro Cardinals
After flying high against Harris County last Saturday, Northside came back down to earth. The Northside Patriots were beaten by the Jonesboro Cardinals 73-31 on Tuesday. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.
Frank Jackson was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 14 en route to 18 points and seven boards for Jonesboro. What's more, Jackson also racked up two assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Tim Prather was another key player, putting up 11 points and five assists.
Northside has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Jonesboro, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-7.
Northside will head out on the road to square off against Mundy's Mill at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jonesboro, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Griffin at 7:30 p.m. Jonesboro is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.3 points per game this season.
