Recap: Southeast Lauderdale Tigers vs. Northeast Lauderdale Trojans
It was a good run, but the Southeast Lauderdale Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 63-51 to Northeast Lauderdale. While losing is never fun, Southeast Lauderdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Northeast Lauderdale is ranked 30th).
Leading Northeast Lauderdale to victory were Troy Brown and Davian Franklin. Brown dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Franklin scored 17 points along with seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for him. Jeremiah Clark was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five steals.
Southeast Lauderdale's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Northeast Lauderdale, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeast Lauderdale will face off against Enterprise at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeast Lauderdale will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Quitman at 7:30 p.m. on December 29th. Quitman will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
