Football Recap: Paul W. Bryant Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Paul W. Bryant extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They took a blow against the Chelsea Hornets, falling 37-7. The Stampede were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Paul W. Bryant lost, don't look at Brandon Johnson Jr. Despite the final result, he rushed for 94 yards and one score on only 13 carries.

As for Chelsea, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1. That 30 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Chase Malone was his usual excellent self, rushing for 199 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 11 rushing touchdowns on the season.

Looking ahead, Paul W. Bryant will face off against Bessemer City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 12.6 points per game this season, so the Stampede's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Chelsea, they will venture away from home to take on Chilton County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
