Preview: Camden Bulldogs vs. Crestwood Knights

Camden is on a nine-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Crestwood is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Camden Bulldogs will take on the Crestwood Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Two weeks ago, Camden took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 41-6 victory over Darlington. Given Camden's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Darlington is ranked 143rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Camden to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaquarius (jah) Mayrant, who picked up 101 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Grayson White, who threw for 175 yards and four touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Crestwood was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Darlington 39-12 at home.

Javion Martin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 72 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 242 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Azarian Yates, who rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown.

Their wins bumped Camden to 6-2 and Crestwood to 7-1.

Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as both teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Camden commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 4.8 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Crestwood struggles in that department as they've been even better at 5.6 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.

Everything came up roses for Camden against Crestwood in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 53-20 win. Will Camden repeat their success, or does Crestwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
