Basketball Game Preview: Denison Yellow Jackets vs. McKinney North Bulldogs

Denison is 1-9 against McKinney North since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 5:45 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Denison was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-40 to Lovejoy. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Leopards are ranked 87th).

Meanwhile, in Friday's Canine Competition, McKinney North didn't have enough. They fell just short of Anna by a score of 43-40 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since December 8, 2023.

Denison's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-5. As for McKinney North, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-9.

Denison took a serious blow against McKinney North in their previous matchup back in January, falling 53-20. Can Denison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
