Volleyball Recap: Randolph Comes Up Short

Randolph was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Boyd County Spartans. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their loss to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Boyd County scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Randolph still got an impressive performance from Alexis Backhaus, who had 11 digs and two assists.

Randolph's loss dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Boyd County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-12.

Randolph has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Osmond on the 16th. As for Boyd County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Scotland on the 18th.
