Soccer Game Preview: Hickman County vs. McEwen

Hickman County is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will venture away from home to face off against the McEwen Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Hickman County has given up an average of 6.5 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hickman County lost 8-2 to Battle Creek on Tuesday. Hickman County have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, McEwen kept a clean sheet against Montgomery Central on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over the Indians. Considering McEwen have won four matches by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for McEwen and bumps their season record up to 6-2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Hickman County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Hickman County came up short against McEwen in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
