Football Recap: Abernathy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Abernathy can now relate to. They were beaten by the West Texas Comanches 43-14 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Antelopes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 606th, while the Comanches are ranked 156th).

Despite the loss, Abernathy still got an impressive performance from Malachi Walters, who rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.

Cayde Winters had a dynamite game For West Texas., rushing for 224 yards and four TDs while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Kelby Sherwood also helped out as he racked up 106 rushing yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Abernathy and nudges their season record down to 5-6. As for West Texas, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

As of now, neither Abernathy nor the Comanches have any future games scheduled.
