Softball Recap: Hutto Drops Highest Score of Season Against Manor

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hutto). Everything went their way against the Manor Mustangs on Tuesday as the Hutto Hippos made off with a 17-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Hippos in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.

Bailey Kelley made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That hit marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Makayla Martinez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was M'Kayla Hicks, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Hutto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.

Hutto's record is now 3-8. As for Manor, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Hutto will challenge Cedar Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 279 places (487 vs. 208). Similarly, Manor (ranked 911th) will meet Round Rock (ranked 400th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
