Basketball Recap: Hannah Krein Key Part of Team Effort in Tigers Win

It's playoff time, and Niobrara County had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took down the Kaycee Buckaroos 41-22 on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 44-21 back in December of 2024.

Niobrara County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hannah Krein led the charge by putting up seven points along with 13 rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Krein a new career-high in boards. Gracie ZumBrunnen was another key player, posting ten points and three steals.

Niobrara County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Niobrara County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Kaycee is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

Niobrara County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-17 defeat against Upton on the 28th. As for Kaycee, they have also already played their next game, a 44-26 loss against HEM on the 28th.
