Basketball Recap: Sacopee Valley's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

Sacopee Valley hadn't done well against Richmond recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Sacopee Valley Hawks enjoyed a cozy 54-38 victory over the Richmond Bobcats. The win was all the more spectacular given the Hawks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Bobcats are ranked 30th).

Sacopee Valley's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9. As for Richmond, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Sacopee Valley will take on Old Orchard Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Old Orchard Beach will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Sacopee Valley surely won't give up without a fight. Richmond has already played their next game (against Islesboro Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
