Soccer Game Preview: Alisal vs. Monterey

The Alisal Trojans will venture away from home to take on the Monterey Dores at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Alisal's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Alisal is headed into Friday's following a draw, the team's first since December 4. They and North Salinas finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Monday.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Monterey's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Seaside by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Dores came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 180th, while the Spartans are ranked 839th).

Alisal's draw makes their record 3-3-2 this season. As for Monterey, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1-1.
