Baseball Recap: Cumberland Gap Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Karns, Cumberland Gap was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the West Greene Buffaloes get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 14-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Tate Murphy and Kole Carter made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Murphy tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Carter tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Murphy went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Carter scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hudson Harris, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

The win got Cumberland Gap back to even at 1-1.
