Softball Game Preview: Perryville Panthers vs. Joppatowne Mariners

For the second straight game, Perryville will face off against Joppatowne. The Panthers will head out to challenge the Mariners at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Perryville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Joppatowne 23-7 on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Mariners recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Taegan Spier was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Spier was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor McGuirk, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Doyle, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one double.

Perryville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Joppatowne is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5. As for Perryville, their record is now 2-6.
