Volleyball Recap: Oakwood Takes a Loss

After flying high against Yeshiva University of Los Angeles (YULA) last Tuesday, Oakwood came back down to earth. The Owls fell 3-1 to the Le Lycee Lions on Wednesday. The Owls were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Oakwood started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-19.

Oakwood has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Le Lycee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakwood will challenge St. Monica at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Le Lycee, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Providence at 5:30 p.m. on the 21st.
