Preview: Morris Eagles vs. Beggs Demons
Morris is 0-10 against Beggs since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Morris Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Beggs Demons at 7:00 p.m. Morris will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
Morris can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They breezed by Westville at home to the tune of 50-22. The victory was just what Morris needed coming off of a 33-12 loss in their prior matchup.
It was another big night for Trey Daniels, who rushed for 338 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 16.9 yards per carry. Daniels really tore up the turf during one magnificent 84-yard run. Another player making a difference was Cruze Lawson, who rushed for 171 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.7 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 54 points the game before, Beggs were a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They were beaten by Kiefer 68-6. While losing is never fun, Beggs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Kiefer is ranked 25th).
Morris' victory bumped their season record to 3-5 while Beggs' loss dropped theirs to 4-4.
Morris came up short against Beggs in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 28-20. Can Morris avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
