Football Recap: South San Francisco Gets the Win + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Leigh, South San Francisco was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They managed a 14-9 victory over the Sequoia Ravens. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Warriors were the better team in the second half.

Anthony Howell threw for 105 yards on 12 of 21 attempts. Thomas Miller was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards. On the ground, Devon Jackson rushed for 62 yards and a pair of TDs.

South San Francisco's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Sequoia, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

After each having a week off, South San Francisco and Fremont will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Warriors will be up against the Firebirds' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sequoia, they will head out to face off against Half Moon Bay at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The matchup will give the Ravens their first taste of in-conference action this season.
