Volleyball Recap: Laguna Creek Picks Up 13th Straight Win at Home

Laguna Creek extended their postseason success on Friday against Monterey Trail. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Mustangs. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Laguna Creek walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 20-25, 25-12, 25-20.

Jake Shipley paced Laguna Creek's offense, picking up 27 kills. Shipley got some help from Aidan Wong and his 42 assists. Finally, Gavin Hettrick and Ian Iyakaremye kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked 12 attacks.

Laguna Creek pushed their record up to 24-4 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home. As for Monterey Trail, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-8.

Coming up, Laguna Creek will face off against Folsom at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. Monterey Trail does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
