Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kaitlyn Goffinet and Masen Labhart Lead Perry Central to Victory

Perry Central waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Mitchell Bluejackets by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Commodores also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Perry Central easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-11.

Perry Central was led to victory by Masen Labhart and Kaitlyn Goffinet. Labhart had six kills and six digs, while Goffinet had six digs and one assist. The dominant performance also gave Goffinet a new career-high in kills (two).

When it comes to explaining why Mitchell lost, don't look at Natalee Nissley. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs and one assist. Nissley is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season.

Perry Central's record now sits at 3-0. As for Mitchell, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Perry Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Scottsburg on the 16th. As for Mitchell, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Southport on the 16th.
