Soccer Recap: University Prep Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lassen last Saturday, University Prep came back down to earth. The University Prep Panthers fell just short of the Chico Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to University Prep of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2021.

University Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Chico, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4-1.

University Prep will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gridley at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Gridley will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something University Prep surely won't give up without a fight. Chico will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Foothill at 7:00 p.m. on January 15, 2025.
