Recap: Lawrence County Wildcats vs. The Grace Christian Academy Eagles
The Lawrence County Wildcats had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They put the hurt on The Grace Christian Academy with a sharp 71-45 victory. The result was nothing new for Lawrence County, who have now won three contests by 25 points or more so far this season.
Defeat or not, The Grace Christian Academy got some senior leadership from Mahkai Seymour who scored 18 points and Quintes Yarbrough who scored 12 points. The game was Yarbrough's sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Lawrence County pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for The Grace Christian Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.
Lawrence County and Archbishop McNicholas will round out the year against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at. The Grace Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering at 4:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 358th in Alabama, while The Grace Christian Academy is ranked 176th in Georgia).
