Football Recap: Northwest Cabarrus Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake + How To Watch

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Northwest Cabarrus ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They managed a 27-21 victory over the Central Cabarrus Vikings. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Trojans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Vikings are ranked 270th).

Northwest Cabarrus found their leader in sophomore Titus Troy, who rushed for 200 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry.

Northwest Cabarrus was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 256 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Northwest Cabarrus has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. As for Central Cabarrus, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest Cabarrus will welcome Ashbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Cabarrus, they will be playing at home against Mount Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
