Baseball Recap: Kiski School Has No Trouble Against River Valley

Kiski School's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Mercersburg Academy on Saturday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the River Valley Panthers. That looming 15-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.

Justin Urban tossed a big game, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kiski School saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Hahn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs. Those three runs gave Hahn a new career-high.

Kiski School hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Kiski School's record is now 3-8. As for River Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Kiski School will face off against Western Reserve Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. River Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
