Softball Recap: St. Joseph Beats San Antonio Christian for Their Fifth Straight Victory

St. Joseph waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the San Antonio Christian Lions as they made off with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Flyers have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

St. Joseph got a massive performance out of Gianna Morris, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Morris is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Azilee Leita was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

St. Joseph always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Antonio Christian only posted an OBP of .176.

St. Joseph's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for San Antonio Christian, they dropped their record down to 6-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, St. Joseph will venture away from home to face off against Saint Mary's Hall at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saint Mary's Hall's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so St. Joseph's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for San Antonio Christian, they will host St. Anthony at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. San Antonio Christian's pitchers better be ready for this one: St. Anthony has averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
