Eunice is a perfect 10-0 against Jal since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Cardinals will square off against the Panthers at 1:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Eunice has 16 straight wins, Jal has 23 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Eunice proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Vista Del Futuro 11-10. 11 seems to be a good number for the Cardinals as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Elijah Melancon looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andrez Serrano, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. David Manriquez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Jal played against Texico on Tuesday and lost via forfeit.

Eunice's win bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Jal, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

Eunice got the 'W' when the teams last played last Tuesday against Jal by a conclusive 18-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
