It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact McClave can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 50-8 loss at the hands of the Haxtun Fightin' Bulldogs. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Cardinals, who until this game were averaging 14.92 points allowed.

Drew Howe threw for 89 yards on eight of 21 attempts. Mason Barr was his top target, picking up 48 receiving yards.

Haxtun had a senior duo take command as Colin Cone threw for 195 yards and four TDs on only 11 passes and Zach Statz rushed for 159 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries. Statz's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 121 rushing yards. Haxtun's leading receiver Chase Goddard was Cone's top target yet again, picking up 143 receiving yards and three scores.

McClave's defeat dropped their record down to 11-1. As for Haxtun, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.

McClave does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Haxtun, they will challenge Akron at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Fightin' Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Rams have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
